Albertville, AL –The Sand Mountain Park Event Center buzzed with energy and optimism on the morning of September 10, as nearly 500 volunteers dressed in red United Way shirts, gathered for the United Way of Marshall County's 27th Annual Day of Caring Breakfast and Campaign Kickoff. This annual event, celebrated as the county's largest one-day volunteer gathering, was a tremendous success, brimming with inspiring stories and a unified dedication to community service.
This year's event was distinguished by powerful presentations from members of the Marshall County 4-H Clubs. Their stories highlighted the positive impact the program has had on their lives. They also helped with the announcement of this year’s campaign goal of $760,000. The campaign's theme, "Where There Is a You, There Is a Way," resonates deeply as the community continues to rally in support of United Way and its mission.
Campaign Co-Chairs Johnna Williams and Cade Smith revealed that 18 Pacesetter Companies have collectively raised $305,054, marking 40% of the campaign's goal, with 9 companies achieving 100% participation. This year’s Pacesetter Companies included:

Williams and Smith also recognized the 2024/2025 Loaned Executives: Lance Morgan of the City of Boaz, Jacob Roll of Ainsworth Realty, Charlotte Sparks of the Child Development Center, Frieda Werkmiester of Marshall County Home Place, Stephany McTarsney of Domestic Violence Crisis Services, Banesa Ramirez of Family Services of North Alabama, Tim Arens of Progress Rail, Holly Berry of Peoples Independent Bank, Megan Estes of Cadence Bank, Monica Watkins of CASA of Marshall County, and Carly Stokes of Citizens Bank & Trust.
United Way Executive Director Carrie Thomas proudly announced that over 90 Day of Caring projects were adopted countywide, further reflecting the organization's dedication to local improvement. Additionally, 30 companies participated in Casual Days, showcasing their solidarity with United Way.
In a statement reflecting the event's spirit, Marketing and Community Impact Director Raquel Zavaleta said, “The incredible turnout and enthusiasm today demonstrates the power of our community to come together and make a lasting impact.”
